A year of blogging

It's been a whole year since I started this blog. And what a year it has been!

I've been to 3 different countries, I've seen two different oceans, I've flown on 10 different airplanes... I got to meet my grandparents and all my great-grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins and lots of friends. I attended many many many fun parties, and even hosted a few of them.

I started smiling and rotating and rolling and sitting and crawling and standing and clapping and climbing and walking and eating and drinking and talking. I went to Yoga classes and baby massage classes and swimming lessons and even started daycare. I witnessed debates and elections. I got to experience all four seasons and many many holidays and celebrations. I've discovered lots and lots of toys and sprouted 12 big white teeth. I went to choir, and La Leche Leaguemeetings, met midwives and doctors.

I've even gone camping!

And most of all - I did a lot of blogging. Hope you enjoyed reading, and I hope you will follow me in my new adventures at my new blog.

Sling time

I bet you didn't know that I could still fit in my trusty sling! I really like hanging out in it, nice and close to my Mum. She finds that I am getting a little heavy for this, but she indulges me from time to time.

Tonight I spent the evening with my Dad, while Mum went to sing with the choir, and I made sure he had his work cut out. He had to put me to bed not once, not twice, but three times. I kept changing my mind (tired/awake/tired/awake). But he's a good Dad and he put up with my mood swings without complaining.

It's getting warmer

It's only the second day of February, but it's already much warmer and nicer than last month. We finally got a chance to go out for a walk at daycare - it seems like it's been forever! I really like going out for walks, although today I fell asleep pretty much as soon as we stepped out. I like sleeping even more than I like walks! I even like sleeping more than eating, which sometimes surprises my parents.

Superbowl

I hear there's something called "Superbowl" happening tonight, but I have to admit I am not all that interested. In fact, even hearing about it makes me kind of sleepy...

I prefer to worry about food, like eating apples all by myself:

Also, it has been confirmed by an independent third party that I can indeed say the word "cracker" (it sounds something like "caw-ker"), in context and repeatably. So that is my official first word.

Weird customs

Something bizarre happened today. Our wonderful green tree with the blinking lights that play music suddenly disappeared. I was quite shocked to discover a bare corner where the tree was just this morning. Mum promises it will be back next year, but that sounds like a long time from now!

In other news, Mum is convinced that I have said the word cracker (in context and several times), but Dad is convinced it is simply wishful thinking. Unfortunately there is no recording of the actual event for you to judge...

Pyjama day

Today was pyjama day at daycare :) Pyjama day is fun, because everyone is fuzzy and cuddly.

Do you know what my favourite time of day is? It's bathtime:

Also? I just discovered my belly button. I've known for a while that Mum had one, but I just discovered that I have one too. Why did noone tell me about it? It's one of the most hilarious things ever!

Studying

I spent a bunch of time tonight studying my biggest book. There's a lot of stuff for me to learn!
Also, there's less than a week left before this blog turns one. After that, I may scale back to less frequent updates, as I try ramping up my studying instead (I have lots of words to learn, you know). To celebrate the anniversary of the blog, I'd like to ask you for some photo suggestions. Is there any photo of me you would like to see? What has been your favourite picture from the whole year?
